Description

Chunky Homemade Apple Jam with rich apple flavor and balanced sweetness, perfect for preserving autumn apples.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 lbs chopped apples
  • 4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Combine apples, sugar, and lemon juice and refrigerate 4 hours or overnight
  2. Freeze a plate for gel testing
  3. Strain fruit and boil reserved liquid
  4. Add apples and cook 20–30 minutes
  5. Test gel consistency using frozen plate
  6. Fill sterilized jars leaving 1/4-inch headspace
  7. Process jars for 10 minutes and rest 5 minutes
  8. Cool completely

Notes

  1. Use mixed apple varieties
  2. Stir occasionally
  3. Refrigerate after opening
