Description

Easy Homemade Biscuits made with six simple ingredients for tender, fluffy layers every time.


Ingredients

Scale

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 1/2 Tbsp baking powder (aluminum free)

1 tsp granulated sugar

3/4 tsp salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold

1 cup half and half (minus 2 Tbsp)

1/2 Tbsp melted butter (for brushing)


Instructions

1. Dice cold butter into cubes and chill.

2. Whisk flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.

3. Cut butter into dry ingredients until pea-sized.

4. Add half and half and stir gently until moistened.

5. Turn dough onto floured surface and fold twice.

6. Pat into 5″x10″ rectangle and cut 10 biscuits.

7. Bake at 450°F for 12–15 minutes until golden.

8. Brush with melted butter and cool 10 minutes.

Notes

Substitute half and half with equal parts heavy cream and milk.

In humid climates reduce liquid to 3/4 cup.
