Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups water
- 2 black tea bags (or green tea as a substitute)
- 2 ripe mangoes, peeled and cubed
- 2–3 tbsp honey (or sugar, to taste)
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- Ice cubes (optional: mango juice ice cubes)
Instructions
- Brew the Tea: Boil 4 cups of water and steep the tea bags for 3–5 minutes. Remove the bags and let the tea cool to room temperature or refrigerate for quicker cooling.
- Prepare Mango Puree: Blend the mango cubes until smooth. Strain the puree for a silky texture if desired.
- Combine Ingredients: In a pitcher, mix the cooled tea and mango puree. Stir well. Add honey or sugar to taste, ensuring it dissolves completely.
- Add Lemon Juice: Stir in 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice for a tangy balance.
- Chill & Serve: Refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Serve over ice and garnish with mint leaves or a lemon slice for extra flair.
Notes
- Use Ripe Mangoes for the Best Flavor: Ensure your mangoes are fully ripe to achieve a natural sweetness and rich mango flavor. Avoid using unripe or overly soft mangoes.
- Avoid Over-Steeping Tea: Steep your tea for 3–5 minutes only. Over-steeping can result in a bitter flavor that might overpower the mango’s sweetness.
- Chill Thoroughly Before Serving: Allow the tea to chill properly in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to enhance the flavors and make it refreshing.
