Description
This Homemade Salsa Recipe blends fire-roasted tomatoes, jalapeños, fresh lime, and spices into a bold, restaurant-style salsa that’s ready in minutes. Made in a blender, it’s perfect for chips, tacos, nachos, and everything in between—fresh, flavorful, and better than anything from a jar.
Ingredients
28 oz fire-roasted canned tomatoes
1/2 medium white onion
2 jalapeño peppers
2 garlic cloves
Juice of 1 lime (about 2 tbsp)
1/3 cup fresh cilantro
1/2 tsp granulated sugar
1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
1 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp chipotle chilli powder (adjust to taste)
Instructions
Add all ingredients to a blender: tomatoes, onion, jalapeños, garlic, lime juice, cilantro, sugar, salt, cumin, and chipotle powder.
Pulse until ingredients are well blended but still slightly chunky. Avoid over-blending.
Taste and adjust salt or spice as needed.
Serve immediately, or chill in the fridge to deepen the flavours.
Notes
For a mild salsa, remove seeds and ribs from jalapeños.
Add more jalapeño or cayenne if you like it spicier.
A touch more sugar helps if the tomatoes are very acidic.
Chill for at least 1 hour for best flavor melding.
