Ingredients
Scale
For the Fries:
- 1 lb frozen French fries (or fresh-cut potatoes)
- Oil for frying (if making fresh fries)
- Salt to taste
For the Crawfish:
- 1 lb cooked crawfish tails (peeled and deveined)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- ½ tsp Cajun seasoning
- ½ tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Honey Garlic Sauce:
- 3 tbsp honey
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 tbsp butter
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
Toppings (Optional):
- Chopped green onions
- Fresh cilantro
- Crumbled cheese
Instructions
- Cook the Fries:
- If using frozen fries, cook them according to package instructions until golden and crispy.
- If making fresh fries, cut potatoes into strips, soak in cold water for 30 minutes, then drain and pat dry. Fry in hot oil at 350°F (175°C) until crispy. Drain excess oil and season with salt.
- Prepare the Crawfish:
- In a pan over medium heat, melt butter and sauté minced garlic until fragrant.
- Add crawfish tails, Cajun seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well and cook for about 3-4 minutes until heated through. Remove from heat.
- Make the Honey Garlic Sauce:
- In a small saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Stir in honey, soy sauce, and red pepper flakes (if using). Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Assemble the Dish:
- Place crispy fries on a serving plate. Top with sautéed crawfish.
- Drizzle generously with the honey garlic sauce.
- Garnish with green onions, cilantro, or crumbled cheese for extra flavor.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- Use Fresh or Frozen Crawfish:
- If using frozen crawfish tails, make sure to thaw them completely and pat them dry before cooking to avoid excess moisture. Fresh crawfish will give the best flavor!
- Crispy Fries Matter:
- For extra crispy fries, double-fry them! Fry once at a lower temperature (325°F/160°C) to cook through, then fry again at a higher temperature (375°F/190°C) to get them golden and crispy.
- Balance the Sweetness & Spice:
- The honey garlic sauce should be sweet and savory with a little kick. Adjust the red pepper flakes or add hot sauce for extra heat, or reduce the honey if you prefer it less sweet.
