Description

Perfect for any gathering, these sliders combine sweet honey mustard, savory chicken, crispy bacon, and fresh veggies in a soft, pillowy bun. Easy, versatile, and irresistible!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) chicken tenders or breasts
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 slider buns (Hawaiian rolls or brioche)
  • 8 slices of crispy bacon
  • 8 small slices of Colby Jack or cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
  • ½ cup honey mustard sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  • Prepare the Chicken: Mix paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Rub the seasoning over the chicken.
  • Cook the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the chicken for 6-8 minutes per side until golden and fully cooked (165°F/74°C). Alternatively, grill for a smoky flavor.
  • Cook the Bacon: While the chicken cooks, fry or bake bacon until crispy. Set aside on paper towels to drain excess grease.
  • Toast the Buns: Slice buns in half and toast the cut sides in a skillet with butter or under the broiler for 1-2 minutes until lightly crisp.
  • Assemble the Sliders: Spread a thin layer of honey mustard sauce on the bottom bun. Layer with cooked chicken, cheese slice, bacon, lettuce, and a tomato slice. Add more honey mustard if desired and place the top bun.
  • Serve: Secure with toothpicks if needed, and serve immediately!

Notes

  • Marinate for Flavor: Let the chicken sit in the seasoning for at least 30 minutes (or overnight in the fridge) to enhance its flavor and ensure juicy, well-seasoned meat.
  • Crispy Bacon is Key: Ensure the bacon is thoroughly crispy to provide a delightful crunch that contrasts with the tender chicken and soft buns. Baking bacon in the oven on a wire rack helps achieve perfect crispness.
  • Prevent Soggy Buns: Lightly toasting the buns not only adds texture but also prevents them from becoming soggy when layered with sauces and juicy toppings.
