Description
Jalapeno Popper Rolls are buttery rolls filled with a cheesy bacon jalapeno mixture for the perfect party appetizer.
Ingredients
⅔ cup whole milk
5 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 teaspoons active dry yeast
2 large eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon kosher salt
½ cup unsalted butter
½ tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
8 ounces cream cheese
4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 red onion, diced
1 jalapeno pepper, diced
2 teaspoons chives
2 teaspoons garlic
2 cups white cheddar cheese
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon garlic
1 teaspoon chives
1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
1. Combine milk and 1 tablespoon sugar; add yeast and rest 5 minutes.
2. Whisk in eggs.
3. In mixer bowl, add remaining sugar, flour, and salt.
4. Add milk mixture; mix and add butter gradually.
5. Knead 5 minutes until soft.
6. Place in buttered bowl; rise 1 hour.
7. Punch down and roll to 10×15 inches.
8. Mix cream cheese, bacon, onion, jalapeno, chives, and garlic.
9. Spread filling on dough; add shredded cheese.
10. Roll tightly and slice into 12 rolls.
11. Place in pan; rise until doubled.
12. Bake at 350°F for 25–30 minutes.
13. Brush warm rolls with garlic butter topping.
Notes
Adjust jalapeno seeds for heat preference.
Freeze baked rolls for later use.
