Ingredients
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 ½ cups sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)
Instructions
1️⃣ Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
2️⃣ In a medium bowl, combine flour and baking powder. Set aside.
3️⃣ In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes).
4️⃣ Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in vanilla extract.
5️⃣ Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
6️⃣ Stir in sour cream until fully incorporated.
7️⃣ Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
8️⃣ Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Allow cookies to cool.
9️⃣ For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle over cooled cookies.
Notes
1️⃣ Room Temperature Ingredients: Ensure your butter, eggs, and sour cream are at room temperature. This helps the ingredients blend smoothly, creating a consistent, soft texture.
2️⃣ Don’t Overmix the Dough: Overmixing can result in dense cookies. Mix just until the flour is incorporated to maintain a light, tender crumb.
3️⃣ Glaze While Slightly Warm: For extra moisture and flavor, drizzle the glaze over the cookies while they’re still slightly warm. It allows the glaze to soak in beautifully!
