Description

Layered Taco Bake is a hearty Tex-Mex casserole made with seasoned ground beef, tortillas, salsa con queso, and melted Mexican cheese blend.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup salsa con queso
  • 3 (8-inch) flour tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes.
  2. Drain excess grease and return beef to skillet.
  3. Add taco seasoning and water, stir and simmer until thickened.
  4. Stir in salsa con queso until melted and combined.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F and spray baking pan.
  6. Layer tortilla, 1/3 beef mixture, and 1/3 cheese.
  7. Repeat layers.
  8. Add final tortilla, remaining beef, and cheese.
  9. Bake 15-20 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

  1. Drain beef well to prevent greasy texture.
  2. Let casserole rest before slicing for cleaner cuts.
  3. Customize heat level with spicy taco seasoning or pepper jack cheese.
