- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups chopped pecans
Instructions
- Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add softened butter and mix until crumbly.
- Press the mixture evenly into a 9×13-inch baking pan lined with parchment paper.
- Bake the crust for 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden. Let it cool slightly.
- Make the Filling:
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together corn syrup, sugar, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Stir in chopped pecans.
- Assemble the Bars:
- Pour the pecan filling over the baked crust, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
- Bake:
- Return the pan to the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and lightly golden on top.
- Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
- Cut and Serve:
- Once cooled, lift the bars out of the pan using the parchment paper. Slice into squares or rectangles.
