Description

This homemade Mango Jam is made with fresh mango, sugar, and lime juice. It is naturally thick, bright, sweet, and spreadable with no pectin needed.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups chopped ripe mango
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice

Instructions

  1. Add chopped mango and granulated sugar to a medium saucepan.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring often and mashing the mango as it softens.
  3. Continue cooking for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the mixture becomes thick and jam-like.
  4. Stir in the lime juice and cook for another 5 minutes.
  5. Remove the pan from the heat and let the jam cool completely.
  6. Transfer the cooled jam to a clean airtight jar.
  7. Refrigerate the jam and let it thicken further over the next 24 to 48 hours.
  8. Serve on buttered bread, Cuban crackers, yogurt, ice cream, or use as a sweet glaze.

Notes

  1. This recipe makes about 1 cup of jam.
  2. The jam lasts 2 to 3 weeks in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
  3. Freeze for up to 3 months in a freezer-safe container.
  4. Use ripe, sweet mangoes for the best flavor.
  5. The jam thickens more as it cools and rests in the refrigerator.
