- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder

- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup
- 2–3 tablespoons milk or cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
- Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy, then add eggs one at a time.
- Mix in vanilla and buttermilk, then fold in dry ingredients.
- Spread batter evenly in pan and bake 25–30 minutes until set.
- Whisk glaze ingredients until smooth and spread over warm bars.
- Cool, slice, and serve.

- Use real maple syrup for best flavor.
- Do not overmix batter to keep bars tender.
