Description

Sweet, tangy, and slightly spicy Maple Peach Barbecue Sauce made with fresh peaches, maple syrup, and classic barbecue spices.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ¾ cup cider vinegar
  • ½ cup tomato paste
  • 1 cup fresh peaches, peeled and cut into small cubes
  • ½ cup molasses
  • ¾ cup dark maple syrup
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon ground mustard
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Peel and cube the peaches.
  2. Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  3. Whisk continuously until the tomato paste dissolves completely.
  4. Cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until peaches soften and sauce thickens.
  5. Test consistency by chilling a small amount briefly in the freezer.
  6. Remove from heat and cool slightly before serving or storing.

Notes

  1. Use ripe peaches for best flavor.
  2. Blend the finished sauce for a smoother texture if desired.
  3. Store refrigerated for up to 1 week.
