Ingredients
- Beef Marinade:
- 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tbsp water
- Stir Fry:
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 3 green onions, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- Sauce:
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp white vinegar
- 1/2 tsp sesame oil
- Ramen:
- 2 packs ramen noodles (fresh or instant)
- 2 cups beef or chicken broth
Instructions
- Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine soy sauce, cornstarch, baking soda, and water. Toss the thinly sliced beef in the mixture and let it marinate for 15 minutes.
- Cook the Noodles: Boil ramen noodles until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Stir-Fry the Beef: Heat vegetable oil in a wok over high heat. Add marinated beef and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Cook Vegetables: In the same wok, add broccoli, bell pepper, green onions, garlic, and ginger. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until tender-crisp.
- Prepare the Sauce: Mix soy sauce, hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, vinegar, and sesame oil in a small bowl.
- Combine Everything: Return the beef to the wok, pour in the sauce, and toss to coat evenly. Add the cooked ramen noodles and broth. Stir-fry everything together for 2 minutes.
- Serve Hot: Plate the stir fry and garnish with additional green onions or sesame seeds.
Notes
1️⃣ Use High Heat for Stir-Frying: Always cook on high heat to achieve a nice sear on the beef and keep the vegetables crisp. Overcrowding the pan can cause steaming instead of frying, so cook in batches if needed.
2️⃣ Don’t Overcook the Noodles: Cook the ramen until just al dente and drain immediately. Overcooked noodles can become mushy when mixed with the sauce.
3️⃣ Balance the Sauce: Taste the sauce before adding it to the stir-fry. Adjust sweetness with hoisin sauce, saltiness with soy sauce, or tang with vinegar to achieve a perfectly balanced flavor.
