Description
A cute no-cook Halloween snack made with applesauce pouches, white crepe paper, and googly eyes. These mummy applesauce pouches are perfect for classroom parties, lunchboxes, daycare treats, and last-minute Halloween snack trays.
Ingredients
Scale
- 20 applesauce pouches, preferably unsweetened
- 1 roll white crepe paper streamers
- 40 googly eyes
- Hot glue gun with glue sticks
- Scissors
- Optional: glue dots for a lower-heat assembly option
- Optional: black marker for writing names on the back
Instructions
- Set the applesauce pouches on a clean table with the front side facing up.
- Cut one piece of white crepe paper about 2 yards long for each pouch.
- Cut each long strip down the center to make two thinner mummy-wrap strips.
- Add a small dot of hot glue to the back or lower side of one pouch and press the end of one crepe paper strip into the glue.
- Wrap the strip around the pouch at a slight angle, crossing over the front and back while leaving the cap uncovered.
- Leave a small open space near the upper front for the eyes.
- Secure the end of the crepe paper strip on the back with another small dot of hot glue.
- Glue two googly eyes to the front of the pouch.
- Let the glue set fully before serving or packing.
- Repeat with the remaining applesauce pouches.
Notes
- Use glue dots instead of hot glue if children help assemble the snacks.
- Do not cover the pouch cap so kids can open the applesauce easily.
- Store finished pouches in a cool, dry place so the crepe paper stays neat.
- Choose unsweetened applesauce pouches for a lower-sugar classroom snack.
- Check school food and craft-material rules before sending these to a classroom party.
