- 8 tablespoons unsalted butter (1 stick)
- 1 box yellow cake mix (15.25 ounces)
- 4 large eggs, divided
- 1 pound powdered sugar (about 4 cups)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Soften the cream cheese at room temperature.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper.
- Melt the butter and let it cool slightly.
- Mix melted butter, cake mix, and 2 eggs until smooth, then press into the pan.
- Beat cream cheese, remaining eggs, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the base.
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until edges are golden and center is slightly jiggly.
- Cool completely, lift from the pan, and cut into bars.
Notes
