Description

A rich and creamy one pot pasta made with garlic, milk, Parmesan cheese, and simple pantry ingredients. Ready in just 20 minutes with minimal cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz spaghetti, linguine, or penne
  • 1 tablespoon butter or olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese or sour cream (optional)
  • Chopped parsley or basil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat butter or olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Cook minced garlic for 1 to 2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Add pasta, milk, and enough water to barely cover the pasta.
  4. Bring to a gentle boil.
  5. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
  6. Stir in Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  7. Mix in cream cheese or sour cream if using.
  8. Garnish with parsley or basil and serve immediately.

Notes

  1. Use freshly grated Parmesan for the smoothest sauce.
  2. Stir frequently to prevent sticking.
  3. Add cooked chicken, shrimp, spinach, or mushrooms for a complete meal.
  4. Reheat leftovers with a splash of milk.
