- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1 tablespoon fresh orange zest
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 cups plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 tablespoons orange juice for glaze
- 1/2 teaspoon orange zest for glaze
- 1 tablespoon melted unsalted butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream the butter and sugar until light and smooth.
- Mix in the egg, orange zest, and orange juice until combined.
- Add salt, baking powder, and flour and mix into a soft dough.
- Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing evenly.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool cookies briefly on the pan, then transfer to a rack.
- Whisk glaze ingredients and drizzle over cooled cookies.
Notes
- Use freshly squeezed orange juice for best flavor.
- Do not overbake to keep cookies soft.
- Allow glaze to set completely before storing.
