Description
These easy Oreo Balls feature a smooth cookies-and-cream center coated in melted chocolate. The no-bake recipe uses only three ingredients and makes 36 rich bite-sized treats for parties, holidays, gifting, or cookie exchanges.
Ingredients
Scale
- 36 regular Oreo cookies, including the filling
- 1 package brick-style cream cheese, softened, 8 ounces
- 16 ounces semisweet, milk, or white chocolate, finely chopped
- 1 to 2 tablespoons reserved Oreo crumbs for decorating, optional
Instructions
- Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.
- Place all 36 whole Oreo cookies in a food processor or blender and process them into fine crumbs.
- Reserve 1 to 2 tablespoons of cookie crumbs for decorating, if desired.
- Transfer the remaining crumbs to a large mixing bowl and add the softened cream cheese.
- Beat the cookie crumbs and cream cheese with a handheld mixer until fully combined, scraping the bowl as needed.
- Measure the mixture into one-tablespoon portions and roll each portion into a smooth ball.
- Arrange the balls on the prepared baking sheet and freeze them for at least 20 minutes.
- Place the chopped chocolate in a clean microwave-safe bowl.
- Microwave the chocolate in 20 to 30 second intervals, stirring thoroughly after each interval, until smooth.
- Dip each chilled Oreo ball into the melted chocolate and turn it until fully coated.
- Lift the ball with a fork, let excess chocolate drip away, and return it to the parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Sprinkle reserved Oreo crumbs over each ball while the coating remains wet.
- Refrigerate the coated Oreo balls for at least 20 minutes, or until the chocolate hardens.
- Serve chilled and enjoy.
Notes
- Use whole regular Oreo cookies and do not remove the cream filling.
- Choose brick-style cream cheese rather than cream cheese spread from a tub.
- Chill the shaped centers before dipping so they remain firm.
- Store Oreo Balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
- Freeze the finished balls in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months.
- Thaw frozen Oreo Balls overnight in the refrigerator before serving.
