Description

Parmesan Basil Chicken features crispy breaded cutlets with fresh basil and grated Parmesan, pan-fried until golden and served hot for an easy Italian dinner.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness.
  2. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  3. Set up three bowls with flour, beaten egg, and a mixture of breadcrumbs, Parmesan, and basil.
  4. Coat each chicken breast in flour, dip in egg, then press into the breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  6. Cook the cutlets for 5 to 7 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
  7. Transfer to paper towels to drain excess oil and serve immediately.

Notes

  1. Add crushed nuts to the breadcrumb mixture for extra crunch.
  2. Wrap tightly and freeze for up to 3 months.
