Description

Parmesan Crusted Steak is a rich and flavorful grilled steak topped with a creamy Parmesan mixture and finished under the broiler for a golden, bubbly crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 New York Strip Steaks (1.5 inches thick)
  • 2 teaspoons beef seasoning or salt and pepper
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat smoker to 225 degrees F
  2. Season steaks on all sides with beef seasoning
  3. Mix mayonnaise, Parmesan, garlic, basil, and black pepper in a bowl
  4. Place steaks on smoker and cook until 10 degrees below desired temperature
  5. Preheat oven to high broil and heat a cast iron skillet for 8 to 10 minutes
  6. Remove steaks and spread Parmesan mixture evenly on top
  7. Place steaks on hot skillet and broil for 2 to 3 minutes until crust is bubbly and browned
  8. Rest steaks for 5 to 10 minutes before serving

Notes

  1. Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for best flavor and texture
  2. Do not skip the resting time to keep the steak juicy
  3. Watch closely while broiling to avoid burning the cheese crust
