Description

This Peach Iced Tea is a refreshing summertime drink made with homemade peach syrup and black tea served over ice.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 black tea bags
  • 4 cups boiling water
  • 3 large ripe peaches chopped
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • Ice cubes
  • Peach slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Bring 4 cups of water to a gentle simmer.
  2. Add tea bags and steep for 5 minutes.
  3. Remove tea bags and chill the tea in the refrigerator.
  4. Blend peaches, 1 cup water, and sugar for a few seconds.
  5. Transfer peach mixture to a saucepan and add remaining water.
  6. Bring to a boil then simmer for 5 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat and let steep for 30 minutes.
  8. Strain peach syrup through a fine mesh sieve.
  9. Chill syrup for 30 minutes.
  10. Combine peach syrup and black tea in a pitcher.
  11. Add ice and garnish with peach slices before serving.

Notes

  1. Store Peach Iced Tea in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  2. The flavor becomes even better after a day in the fridge.
  3. Add simple syrup if you prefer a sweeter drink.
