Description

Flaky peach turnovers made with puff pastry, peach pie filling, and a smooth vanilla glaze. This quick dessert bakes golden and sweet in less than 40 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box puff pastry, 2 sheets total, thawed
  • 21 ounces peach pie filling, canned or homemade
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Prepare 2 cookie sheets with nonstick spray or parchment paper.
  3. Thaw the puff pastry according to the package directions, then unfold the sheets gently.
  4. Press any fold lines together so the pastry sheets seal smoothly.
  5. Cut each puff pastry sheet into 4 equal squares, making 8 squares total.
  6. Place 1 large tablespoon of peach pie filling in the center of each square.
  7. Whisk the egg white with 1 teaspoon water in a small bowl.
  8. Brush the edges of each pastry square with the egg white mixture.
  9. Fold one corner over the filling to meet the opposite corner and form a triangle.
  10. Use a fork to crimp the edges firmly closed.
  11. Brush the top of each turnover with the remaining egg white mixture.
  12. Place 4 turnovers on each prepared baking sheet.
  13. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until the turnovers turn light golden brown.
  14. Move the turnovers to a wire rack to cool.
  15. Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a medium bowl until smooth and pourable.
  16. Drizzle the glaze over the turnovers.
  17. Let the glaze set slightly before serving.

Notes

  1. Thawing time for frozen puff pastry is not included in the prep time.
  2. Keep thawed puff pastry refrigerated until ready to use.
  3. Do not overfill the turnovers, or the peach filling may leak during baking.
  4. These turnovers taste best the day you bake them.
  5. Serve warm or at room temperature.
