Description

A quick and flavorful appetizer made two ways: as a creamy dip with sweet-spicy pepper jelly over tangy cream cheese, and as crisp phyllo cup bites ideal for parties, holidays, and last-minute entertaining.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (15-count) mini phyllo shells
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup red pepper jelly
  • Fresh thyme leaves or chopped green onion (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Arrange the phyllo shells on a baking sheet.
  3. Fill each shell with about 1 teaspoon of cream cheese.
  4. Top each shell with about 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper jelly.
  5. Bake for 5–7 minutes until the shells are crisp and the cream cheese is warmed.
  6. Remove from the oven and garnish if desired.
  7. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  1. Use any variety of pepper jelly and adjust the spice level as needed.
  2. Phyllo shells can be filled ahead and refrigerated before baking.
  3. Garnish with herbs for added color and fresh flavor.
  4. Cranberry-pepper jelly works well for holiday versions.
  5. Serve the dip version with crackers or fresh vegetables.
