Description

Philly Cheese Steak Foil Packets are an easy, flavorful meal with ground beef, vegetables, and melted cheese cooked in foil for quick cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef 80/20
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 cup green pepper, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 4 cups potatoes, diced into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1 cup mushrooms, thinly sliced
  • 4 slices provolone, Swiss, or American cheese
  • 4 teaspoons steak seasoning blend
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Cut 8 foil sheets about 14 x 10 inches
  2. Lay out 4 sheets and spray with nonstick spray
  3. Divide onions, potatoes, peppers, and mushrooms evenly
  4. Add ground beef pieces on top of vegetables
  5. Season each packet with steak seasoning and pepper
  6. Cover with second foil sheet and seal tightly
  7. Cook in oven at 400°F for 35–40 minutes or grill/campfire for 25–35 minutes
  8. Open packets carefully and add cheese on top
  9. Let cheese melt, then serve

Notes

  1. Use double foil if cooking over campfire
  2. Cut potatoes just before cooking to prevent browning
  3. Adjust seasoning after cooking if needed
  4. Fresh grated cheese melts better than slices
  5. Pre-cut vegetables for faster prep
