Description

Pioneer Woman Cheeseburger Pie combines the hearty, savory flavor of a cheeseburger with the comfort of a baked pie. This dish features seasoned ground beef, melty cheese, and a flaky crust, all brought together with eggs for a sliceable, crowd-pleasing meal. Easy to prepare and full of customizable options, it’s ideal for weeknights or weekend dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450–500g) ground beef

  • 1 pre-made or homemade pie crust

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or cheese of choice)

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika or mustard powder (optional)

Optional Add-ins:

  • Cooked bacon bits

  • Jalapeños or hot sauce

  • Barbecue sauce

  • Mozzarella or pepper jack cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).

  2. Cook beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned (5–7 minutes).

  3. Add flavor: Stir in chopped onion and garlic. Cook 3 more minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and optional spices. Drain excess fat.

  4. Prepare crust: Place the pie crust in a pie dish. Optionally pre-bake for 5 minutes to prevent sogginess.

  5. Assemble pie: Add the beef mixture to the crust. Sprinkle cheese evenly on top.

  6. Add eggs: Whisk the eggs and pour them over the filling to bind the ingredients.

  7. Bake: Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the pie is set and lightly golden.

  8. Cool: Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Pre-baking the crust helps avoid sogginess.

Add more cheese on top during the last 5 minutes of baking for extra gooeyness.

Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.

Reheat covered in the oven at 350°F for 10–20 minutes.
