Description

Layers of seasoned beef, marinara, melted mozzarella, and crispy tater tots baked into a comforting pizza-style casserole.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • Optional toppings: pepperoni, olives, bell peppers, green onions, mushrooms

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook ground beef and onion in a skillet until browned, then drain excess grease.
  3. Stir in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper and simmer briefly.
  4. Spread beef mixture in baking dish and sprinkle with 1 cup cheese.
  5. Arrange tater tots over the cheese and top with remaining cheese.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes until tots are crisp and cheese is bubbly.
  7. Add optional toppings and bake 5 more minutes before serving.

Notes

  1. Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  2. For extra crisp tops, broil briefly at the end.
