- 1 lb (450g) ground beef or turkey
- 3 cups cooked pasta (e.g., elbow macaroni)
- 1 cup diced onions
- 1 cup diced bell peppers
- 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 baking dish lightly.
- Cook the Protein: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Sauté Vegetables: In the same skillet, sauté onions and bell peppers until softened.
- Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix cooked pasta, sautéed vegetables, diced tomatoes, sour cream, and half of the shredded cheese. Stir well.
- Assemble the Casserole: Layer the beef mixture at the bottom of the baking dish. Top with the pasta mixture. Sprinkle the remaining cheese evenly on top.
- Bake: Bake for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve: Let it cool for a few minutes, then serve warm.
