Pretzel Chicken with Mustard-Cheddar Sauce: An Amazing Ultimate Recipe
Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
2 cups coarsely crushed pretzels
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
½ cup milk
1 cup mustard-cheddar sauce (recipe below)
Instructions
1. Preheat Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Prepare Chicken: Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
3. Set Up Breading Station:
4. In one bowl, place the flour.
5. In another bowl, beat the eggs and mix in the Dijon mustard.
6. In a third bowl, add the crushed pretzels.
7. Bread Chicken:
8. Dip each chicken breast into the flour, covering it completely.
9. Next, dip it into the egg mixture, allowing excess to drip off.
10. Finally, coat the chicken in the crushed pretzels, pressing gently to adhere.
11. Bake Chicken: Place the coated chicken breasts on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
12. Prepare Mustard-Cheddar Sauce: In a small saucepan, combine milk, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce over medium heat. Stir until heated.
13. Add Cheese: Add cheddar gradually and stir until smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
14. Serve: Let chicken rest, then serve with sauce.
Notes
For extra crunch, add more pretzel crumbs.
