Ingredients
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup dry white wine
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the Shrimp: Pat shrimp dry with paper towels and season lightly with salt and pepper.

3️⃣ Cook the Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
4️⃣ Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, add the white wine and lemon juice. Let it simmer for about 2 minutes to reduce slightly. Stir in the remaining 2 tbsp of butter.
5️⃣ Combine Everything: Return shrimp to the skillet, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, and red pepper flakes. Stir gently to coat shrimp in the sauce.
6️⃣ Serve Hot: Serve immediately with crusty bread, pasta, or steamed vegetables. Garnish with lemon wedges for an extra burst of flavor.
Notes
1️⃣ Don’t Overcook the Shrimp: Shrimp cook very quickly—1-2 minutes per side is all they need. Overcooked shrimp become rubbery, so keep a close eye on them.
2️⃣ Use Fresh Ingredients: Fresh garlic, lemon juice, and parsley make a huge difference in flavor. Avoid bottled substitutes for the best taste.
3️⃣ Serve Immediately: Shrimp scampi tastes best fresh off the skillet. Serve it right away with pasta, crusty bread, or a side of vegetables to enjoy the buttery sauce at its finest.
