Description

A simple sweet-tart rhubarb applesauce made with fresh fruit, cinnamon, and balanced flavors.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups rhubarb, chopped
  • 4 apples, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Wash and chop rhubarb
  2. Peel and chop apples
  3. Cook apples with water for 10 minutes
  4. Add rhubarb, sugar, and cinnamon
  5. Cook for 15–20 minutes until soft
  6. Mash to desired texture
  7. Stir in lemon juice and serve

Notes

  1. Adjust sugar to taste
  2. Use sweet apples to reduce tartness
  3. Do not overcook to avoid mushy texture
