Description

Rhubarb Dump Cake is a simple, comforting dessert made with tart rhubarb, sugar, cake mix, and butter, baked into a golden, crisp-like topping with a soft fruit base.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh or frozen rhubarb, chopped
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 package yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Spread chopped rhubarb evenly in the baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle sugar evenly over the rhubarb.
  4. Add the dry cake mix evenly over the top.
  5. Pour water evenly over the cake mix.
  6. Pour melted butter evenly over the top without mixing.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Do not mix the ingredients after layering to maintain the proper texture.

You can use fresh or frozen rhubarb without thawing.

Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream for best flavor.
