Crab and Shrimp Seafood Bisque is a luxurious and creamy soup bursting with seafood flavor. It blends crab, shrimp, vegetables, and spices into a smooth, comforting dish perfect for dinner.


Ingredients

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 medium onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 stalk celery, finely chopped

1 small carrot, grated

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

3 cups seafood stock or fish broth

1 cup heavy cream

½ cup dry white cooking wine or seafood stock

1 cup lump crab meat

1 cup medium shrimp, peeled and deveined

½ teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon Old Bay seasoning

¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper

Fresh parsley, chopped

Paprika for sprinkling

Crusty bread or oyster crackers


Instructions

1. Melt butter and olive oil in a large pot. Add onion, garlic, celery, and carrot. Cook 5 minutes.

2. Stir in flour and cook 2 minutes until thickened.

3. Slowly whisk in seafood stock and wine. Simmer gently.

4. Add smoked paprika, Old Bay, cayenne, salt, and pepper.

5. Add shrimp and cook until pink.

6. Fold in crab meat gently.

7. Reduce heat and stir in heavy cream.

8. Adjust thickness with extra stock if needed.

9. Serve with parsley, paprika, and bread.

Notes

Use lump crab for best texture.

Avoid boiling after adding cream.

Serve with crusty bread for the best experience.
