Description
Crispy sheet pan tacos filled with seasoned ground beef, onion, salsa, and melted cheddar. This easy 30-minute family dinner serves six and requires minimal cleanup.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 6-inch flour tortillas
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 to 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
- 1/4 cup salsa
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Olive oil spray or olive oil for brushing
- Salsa or pico de gallo, for serving
- Sour cream, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a large baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
- Place a medium skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and chopped onion.
- Cook the beef and onion while breaking the meat into small crumbles. Continue until the beef loses its pink color and the onion softens.
- Drain the excess fat from the skillet.
- Stir in the taco seasoning and salsa. Add salt and black pepper to taste.
- Lightly spray or brush both sides of each tortilla with olive oil.
- Arrange the tortillas on the prepared baking sheet.
- Spoon about 1/4 cup of taco meat onto one half of each tortilla.
- Sprinkle about 1 tablespoon of shredded cheddar over the meat.
- Fold each tortilla in half.
- Bake for 10 minutes.
- Flip each taco carefully with a spatula.
- Bake for another 5 to 10 minutes, or until the tortillas become golden and crisp.
- Serve immediately with salsa, pico de gallo, and sour cream.
Notes
- For extra flavor, cook 1/2 chopped bell pepper or diced green chiles with the beef and onion.
- Spread 1 to 2 tablespoons of refried beans on each tortilla before adding the meat for extra fiber.
- Flour tortillas fold most easily.
- For corn tortillas, wrap them in a damp paper towel and microwave for 30 seconds before oiling.
- Bake corn tortillas about 5 minutes longer than flour tortillas.
- Store leftover tacos in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat leftovers in a 375°F oven or air fryer for the crispiest texture.
