- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup long-grain white rice
- 1/2 lb ground pork sausage
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 celery stalk, diced
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- Hot sauce, optional
Instructions
- Prepare shrimp and chop all vegetables.
- Cook sausage in olive oil until browned.
- Add vegetables and cook until softened.
- Stir in garlic, spices, and rice.
- Pour in broth and simmer until rice is tender.
- Add shrimp and cook until pink.
- Season and garnish with parsley.

- Adjust spice level to taste.
- Do not overcook shrimp.
