- 1 teaspoon dried oregano

- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup water
- 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon granules
- 2 teaspoons minced fresh parsley
- Hot cooked rice
Instructions
- Pat chicken dry with paper towels and rub with oregano, seasoned salt, and pepper.
- Brown chicken in butter over medium heat in a skillet, then transfer to a 5-quart slow cooker.
- Add water, lemon juice, garlic, and bouillon to the skillet; bring to a boil while stirring to loosen browned bits.
- Pour the liquid over the chicken in the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 5 to 6 hours.
- Baste chicken with cooking juices, add parsley, and cook 15 to 30 minutes longer until juices run clear.
- Serve hot over cooked rice.
Notes
- Do not skip browning the chicken for deeper flavor.
- Thicken the cooking juices on the stovetop if desired.
- Add fresh lemon zest before serving for extra brightness.
