Description

Spaghetti Garlic Bread is a baked Italian bread loaf stuffed with cheesy spaghetti, seasoned beef and sausage meat sauce, and topped with melted Parmesan and Mozzarella for a hearty, family-style dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 ounce Italian bread loaf

  • Butter (for brushing)

  • Garlic powder (for sprinkling)

  • 1 pound ground beef

  • 1 pound ground sausage

  • 16 ounce tomato sauce

  • 6 ounce tomato paste

  • 1 medium onion, diced

  • 7 ounce uncooked spaghetti

  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, divided

  • ⅔ cup Mozzarella cheese, divided

  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon salt plus a pinch

  • ½ teaspoon minced garlic

  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.

  • Boil spaghetti in a large pot until al dente, then drain and set aside.

  • Brown ground beef and sausage in a large skillet over medium heat, adding diced onion while cooking.

  • Drain excess fat and return meat mixture to the skillet.

  • Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 5–8 minutes.

  • Add cooked spaghetti to the meat sauce and mix well. Remove from heat.

  • Slice the Italian bread loaf in half lengthwise and hollow out the center of each half.

  • Brush the inside of the bread with butter and sprinkle with garlic powder.

  • Toast the bread halves in the oven until lightly crisp.

  • Fill each hollowed loaf with the spaghetti and meat sauce mixture.

  • Top with divided Parmesan and Mozzarella cheese.

  • Bake for 15–20 minutes until cheese melts and turns golden.

  • Remove from oven, allow to rest briefly, slice, and serve.

Notes

You will have leftover spaghetti and meat sauce after filling the bread.

Freeze the extra sauce for a future meal or use it to make an additional garlic bread boat.
