- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground Italian sausage
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 2 tbsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tbsp parsley, chopped
- 1/2 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 cup spinach, chopped (optional)
- 1/4 cup marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce (topping)
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated (topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Combine ground beef, Italian sausage, onion, garlic, bread crumbs, eggs, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, parsley, milk, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
- Form mixture into a 9×12 inch rectangle on a baking sheet.
- Create a well in the center and fill with mozzarella, spinach, and marinara sauce.
- Fold meat over filling and seal edges tightly.
- Spread marinara sauce on top and sprinkle with Parmesan.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes until internal temperature reaches 160°F.
- Rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
- Serve warm.
Notes
- Add mushrooms, bell peppers, or olives to the filling for variation.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- Wrap tightly and freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw before reheating.
