Description
Super Easy Peach Cobbler is a warm, buttery fresh peach dessert made with simple pantry ingredients, cinnamon, and a tender golden topping.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cut into pieces
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- 1 cup milk
- 4 cups fresh peach slices, from about 5 large peaches
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Ground cinnamon, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Cut the butter into pieces and place it in a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- Place the pan in the oven while it preheats, and let the butter melt completely.
- In a large bowl, whisk the flour, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Stir in the milk just until the batter comes together.
- Carefully remove the pan with melted butter from the oven.
- Pour the batter evenly over the melted butter and gently smooth the top without stirring it into the butter.
- Add the sliced peaches, remaining 1/2 cup sugar, and lemon juice to a saucepan.
- Cook over medium heat for a few minutes, stirring often, until the sugar dissolves.
- Spoon the warm peaches and their juices evenly over the batter.
- Sprinkle the top with ground cinnamon.
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, until the cobbler turns golden and the peach juices bubble.
- Let the cobbler rest for at least 10 minutes before serving.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, if desired.
Notes
- Four cups of peach slices usually come from about 5 large peaches.
- Do not stir the batter into the melted butter after pouring it into the pan.
- Use ripe but slightly firm peaches for the best texture.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for the best summer dessert flavor.
