A tangy, lightly sweet homemade coleslaw dressing made with vinegar, sugar, grated onion, and celery seeds.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon whole celery seeds
  • 1/4 to 1/3 cup grated sweet onion
  • Kosher salt to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Stir sugar and vinegar in a saucepan over medium-high heat until sugar dissolves.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in oil, celery seeds, onion, salt, and pepper.
  3. Let cool slightly, then transfer to a jar and refrigerate until chilled.
