Description
A tangy, lightly sweet homemade coleslaw dressing made with vinegar, sugar, grated onion, and celery seeds.
Ingredients

- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon whole celery seeds
- 1/4 to 1/3 cup grated sweet onion
- Kosher salt to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Stir sugar and vinegar in a saucepan over medium-high heat until sugar dissolves.
- Remove from heat and stir in oil, celery seeds, onion, salt, and pepper.
- Let cool slightly, then transfer to a jar and refrigerate until chilled.
- Shake well before using on coleslaw.
Notes
- Use the large holes of a box grater for the onion.
- Adjust onion amount based on strength.
- Store refrigerated up to 2 weeks.
