Description

Classic Tennessee Peach Pudding made with juicy peaches, warm spices, and a rich homemade sauce that creates a comforting pudding texture while baking.


Ingredients

  • 5 cups peaches, peeled and diced
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cups water
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Ice cream, whipped cream, or Cool Whip for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Whisk brown sugar, sugar, nutmeg, butter, and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
  3. Remove topping mixture from heat and set aside.
  4. Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a large bowl.
  5. Add milk and vanilla extract and whisk until smooth.
  6. Fold diced peaches into the batter.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared baking dish.
  8. Pour topping mixture over the batter.
  9. Bake for 50 to 55 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  10. Cool for 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

  1. Use fresh ripe peaches for best flavor.
  2. Frozen peaches may be used after thawing and draining.
  3. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
