Description

Dips have an incredible ability to transform any gathering into a feast. Whether it’s the creamy richness of guacamole, the earthy charm of hummus, or the zesty freshness of salsa, dips are global culinary treasures that bring people together.

Ingredients

Classic Dips Across Cultures:

  • Guacamole: Creamy avocado goodness with lime and cilantro.
  • Hummus: Smooth chickpea blend with tahini and olive oil.
  • Salsa: Fresh, tangy tomato and chili delight.
  • Butternut Squash & Preserved Lemon Dip: Sweet, tangy, and velvety.
  • Pepper & Pumpkin Seed Dip: Smoky, nutty, and nutrient-rich.
  • Girit Ezmesi: A Turkish cheese and pistachio masterpiece.

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare Avocados: Scoop the flesh of the avocados into a large bowl. Mash them with a fork until smooth but slightly chunky.

2️⃣ Mix Ingredients: Add the chopped onion, tomato, cilantro, jalapeño (if using), lime juice, salt, and cumin to the mashed avocados.

3️⃣ Combine Well: Gently mix everything together until evenly combined. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

4️⃣ Serve Fresh: Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with extra cilantro or lime slices.

5️⃣ Optional Tip: For extra flavor, let the guacamole sit for 15 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.

Notes

1️⃣ Use Ripe Avocados: Ensure your avocados are perfectly ripe—they should yield slightly when gently pressed. Overripe or underripe avocados can affect both texture and flavor.

2️⃣ Fresh Ingredients Are Key: Fresh lime juice, cilantro, and tomatoes make all the difference. Avoid bottled lime juice or pre-chopped vegetables for the best taste.

3️⃣ Prevent Browning: To keep your guacamole fresh and green, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface before storing it in the fridge. Alternatively, add an extra splash of lime juice on top.
