- 2 pounds russet potatoes
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons sour cream
- 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 3/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 pound ground lamb
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 onion
- 4 cloves garlic
- 8 ounces cremini mushrooms
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons gluten free flour
- 3/4 cup red wine
- 1 1/4 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cups frozen peas and carrots
- 1/2 cup frozen corn
Instructions
- Boil potatoes until tender and drain well
- Mash potatoes with butter, milk, sour cream, seasoning, and egg
- Brown lamb in butter with salt and pepper
- Cook onion, garlic, mushrooms, and herbs until soft
- Stir in tomato paste, flour, wine, and broth and simmer
- Add vegetables and spread filling into baking dish
- Top with mashed potatoes and bake until golden

- Use lamb for authentic flavor
- Substitute beef if needed
