Description

Soft, fluffy cinnamon rolls with a nutty twist! These Triple Almond Cinnamon Rolls feature almond flour, almond extract, and sliced almonds for an irresistible flavor perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups almond flour
  • 1/2 cup almond milk (or plant-based milk of choice)
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup or coconut sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted vegan butter or coconut oil
  • 2 tsp almond extract
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds (for topping)
  • 1/4 cup almond flour (for dusting)

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking dish with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  • Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine almond flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Stir until evenly mixed.
  • Add Wet Ingredients: Add almond milk, maple syrup, melted butter, and almond extract to the dry mixture. Stir until the dough forms. It should be soft but not sticky. Adjust with a little extra almond flour if needed.
  • Roll the Dough: Dust your work surface with almond flour. Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.
  • Cinnamon Filling: Lightly sprinkle extra cinnamon on the dough. Roll it up tightly into a log.
  • Slice and Arrange: Cut the log into 8-10 evenly sized rolls. Place them in the prepared dish close together.
  • Add Topping: Sprinkle sliced almonds generously over the rolls.
  • Bake: Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and set.
  • Cool and Serve: Let the rolls cool for a few minutes. Enjoy warm for the best flavor and texture!

Notes

  • Handle the Dough Gently: Almond flour dough can be delicate and sticky. Use almond flour to dust your work surface and hands while rolling it out to prevent sticking and ensure a smooth texture.
  • Don’t Skip the Almond Extract: The almond extract is key to enhancing the nutty flavor of these rolls. Use it sparingly, as it’s potent, but don’t leave it out for the best results!
  • Serve Warm: These rolls taste best fresh out of the oven or slightly warmed. Reheat leftovers in the oven for a few minutes to restore their soft and fluffy texture.
