Description

Brighten up your celebrations with these delightful Candy Kisses cookies! Soft, chewy, and topped with a signature Hershey’s Kiss, they’re perfect for any occasion. A classic treat loved by all!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Hershey’s Kisses (about 24 pieces)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  • Mix dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • Cream wet ingredients: In a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy. Add peanut butter, egg, and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
  • Combine and form dough: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Mix until just combined. If the dough feels sticky, chill in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
  • Shape the cookies: Roll dough into 1-inch balls. Place on the prepared baking sheet, spaced about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake: Bake for 8–10 minutes until the edges are golden and the tops are set.
  • Add the Kisses: Remove from the oven and immediately press a Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie. Let cool on the sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

  • Chill the Dough if Necessary: If your dough feels sticky, refrigerate it for 10–15 minutes before rolling. This helps the cookies hold their shape and prevents spreading during baking.
  • Add the Kisses Quickly but Gently: Press the Hershey’s Kisses into the cookies immediately after baking while they’re still warm, but be gentle to avoid melting the chocolate excessively.
  • Avoid Overbaking: Take the cookies out as soon as the edges are lightly golden, even if the centers look slightly soft. They’ll continue to firm up as they cool, ensuring a soft, chewy texture.
