Ingredients
450 g (1 lb) ground beef
15 ml (1 Tbsp) olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 medium potatoes, peeled and diced (about 450 g / 1 lb)
5 g (1 tsp) salt
2.5 g (1/2 tsp) black pepper
2 g (1 tsp) paprika
1 g (1/2 tsp) dried oregano
120 g (1 cup) shredded cheddar cheese
120 ml (1/2 cup) beef broth
15 g (1 Tbsp) fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart into crumbles.
Stir in onion and garlic. Cook 3–4 minutes until softened and fragrant.
Add diced potatoes. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and oregano. Stir to coat.
Pour in beef broth. Cover and simmer on low heat for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are fork-tender and broth is mostly absorbed.
Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top. Cover again for 2–3 minutes until melted.
Remove from heat, garnish with parsley, and serve hot.
Notes
Add more broth or water if potatoes need extra cook time.
Swap ground beef with turkey, chicken, or sausage for variations.
Shred your own cheddar for the best melt.
Stir in sour cream for extra creaminess.
Best eaten fresh—potatoes may change texture if frozen.
