Ingredients
2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 cup (200g) brown sugar
½ cup (100g) white sugar
¾ cup (180ml) vegetable oil
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 ½ cups (300g) chopped apples, peeled and cored
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease a 9×13 inch (23×33 cm) baking pan.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Add eggs, oil, brown sugar, white sugar, and vanilla extract directly into the bowl. Whisk until well combined.
Fold in the chopped apples.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 30–35 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
Let cool completely before slicing and serving.
Notes
A mix of Granny Smith and Honeycrisp apples adds depth of flavor.
Chopped apples should be small for better distribution.
Optional: dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with vanilla glaze.
Flavor improves after resting overnight.
