Description

This Texas Roadhouse Butter Chicken Skillet is a quick, 25-minute dinner that delivers rich, buttery flavor with minimal effort. Juicy chicken breasts are seared to golden perfection, then glazed in a silky honey-garlic butter sauce infused with smoky paprika and a touch of sweetness. It’s simple, comforting, and full of that restaurant-style warmth—perfect for busy weeknights when you crave something homemade and indulgent.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 680 g)

  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) olive oil

  • ¼ cup (60 g) unsalted butter

  • 2 tsp (10 ml) honey

  • 1 tsp (5 g) garlic powder

  • 1 tsp (5 g) smoked paprika

  • ½ tsp (2.5 g) salt

  • ½ tsp (2.5 g) black pepper

  • ¼ cup (60 ml) chicken broth

  • 1 tbsp (3 g) chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  • Mix the Sauce: In a small bowl, combine butter, honey, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir until smooth.

  • Sear the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chicken breasts and cook 5–6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through (165°F/74°C internal temperature). Remove and set aside.

  • Deglaze the Pan: Pour chicken broth into the same skillet, scraping up browned bits for extra flavor.

  • Create the Butter Sauce: Stir in the butter mixture and whisk until smooth and glossy.

  • Combine and Finish: Return chicken to the skillet and coat in the buttery sauce. Simmer for 2–3 minutes to absorb flavors.

  • Serve: Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot straight from the skillet.

Notes

Use real butter for that signature rich flavor—skip margarine.

Add a splash of heavy cream or Greek yogurt for a creamier finish.

For extra heat, toss in cayenne or chipotle powder.

Try maple syrup instead of honey for a deeper sweetness.

Slice leftovers and serve over pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes the next day.
